Obesity Warning Doll

This doll is an engaging tool that encourages conversations with children around their food choices. It utilizes LED lights to signify specific organ complications related to unhealthy diet. McDonald's fries represent the choice to consume fast food. When the doll puts McDonald's fries in its mouth, the major organs affected by that choice light up: the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys and liver.

There is an urgent need to educate children about their food choices. Obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past thirty years. Children are accustomed to playing with dolls. Using this familiar format as a tool can raise awareness of obesity related damages inside their young bodies.

The doll can potentially be used by school nurses as an educational tool. It could also be placed at school cafeterias or live within the home  kitchen as a daily reminder of healthy eating. habits.
